Axel Springer and StepStone Expand their Alliance
The online job markets of HAMBURGER ABENDBLATT and BERLINER MORGENPOST have been relaunched jointly by Axel Springer and StepStone. The new sites offer enhanced user facilities, improved layout and access to many more online job opportunities. All job listings from HAMBURGER ABENDBLATT, BERLINER MORGENPOST and StepStone are now held in a common database and can be accessed from www.stepstone.abendblatt.de and www.stepstone.morgenpost.de.
These changes bring significant benefits to both candidates and recruiters, for example by offering personalised Job Agents which instantly notify candidates of relevant vacancies, and a CV database in which candidates can register their details and recruiters can search for profiles that meet their requirements.
In autumn 2004, StepStone launched the integration of all StepStone listings with the website of Axel Springer’s DIE WELT. Today’s announcement delivers the latest innovations in online recruitment to the Berlin and Hamburg regions.
HAMBURGER ABENDBLATT and BERLINER MORGENPOST are leading regional daily newspapers with circulations of almost 280,000 and 150,000 respectively and a combined readership of almost 1.2 million. The online job sections of these newspapers, hosted by StepStone, carry approximately 5,000 job listings, as well as providing access to over 13,000 StepStone job vacancies. These new local career sites are already generating approximately 10,000 user visits per day.
It is not just candidates who benefit from these innovations: the combination of DIE WELT, HAMBURGER ABENDBLATT and BERLINER MORGENPOST with StepStone enables powerful new cross-media products. Bringing together the leading print brands of Axel Springer with the established European-wide online presence of StepStone combines the advantages of both media and hence delivers significant added-value and cost-effectiveness to recruiters.
“Our new integrated print and online media products strengthen our position in this important and growing market. Axel Springer can now offer both recruiters and candidates the extended reach of our partnership with StepStone, said Dr. Jens Müffelmann, head of electronic media at Axel Springer AG.
“Through the launch of these new regional online job sites in the key markets of Hamburg and Berlin, our customers are now better able to reach the executives and specialists they need in north Germany and the Berlin Brandenburg region, commented Ralf Baumann, Vorstand of StepStone Germany.
